NEWS RELEASE – 14 July 2021
NZME boosts Northland focus on property and publishing and appoints new commercial leader.
New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) has signalled moves to accelerate the growth of its OneRoof property and real estate presence in Northland.
NZME’s current General Manger for Northland Greg Alexander will move to head the newly established role of Head of OneRoof and Publishing, Northland.
“OneRoof is a strategic pillar for NZME’s growth. Northland is one of the key areas where we have identified a great opportunity to expand the support for OneRoof’s commercial partners and our relationships with the real estate industry,” said NZME CEO Michael Boggs.
In his new role Greg will also be responsible for driving NZME print revenue growth across Northland, including through NZME’s Northland Age and Northern Advocate publications.
With Greg moving to this new role NZME has appointed Mereana Hawthorn as its Northland General Sales Manager.
Currently with seek.co.nz in Auckland, as New Zealand Sales Manager for Recruitment Agencies and SME Business, previously Mereana had eighteen successful years in the media industry, ten of those based in Northland.
“Mereana carried her award winning and incredibly commercially successful radio career into the recruitment industry where she has again excelled,” said NZME Regional Head of Sales, Greg Turley.
“While Mereana’s been living in Auckland for a few years she’s kept closely connected with her family and community in Northland, still hosts the annual Northland Sports Awards in Whangarei and is very happy to be heading home to be closer to her Northland whanau,” said Turley.
Both Greg and Mereana begin their roles officially on 2nd August 2021.
