NZME is thrilled to announce a series of strategic leadership appointments in its Christchurch operation, strengthening its market position and demonstrating continued investment across its diverse portfolio in the
Canterbury region.
NZME’s Christchurch agency sales team welcomes James Matthews as GM Agency Sales, Christchurch.
Currently GM of Marketing & Customer for Smiths City, he brings valuable leadership experience from digital
agencies across both New Zealand and Australia. "I am thrilled to join the NZME team and am looking forward
to building on our well-established relationships with our Christchurch agency partners," says Matthews.
Danielle Torr has been promoted to the newly created position of Sales Lead, Christchurch. Torr will
support Matthews in driving the sales strategy for the Christchurch agency market and leading customer
engagement. Both Matthews and Torr start in their new roles from 1 April.
Greg McCrea, Commercial Director of Agency Sales and Strategic Accounts, says "James is a great person
and has an impressive reputation and level of market credibility. He also brings with him a wealth of media
and marketing experience, and I know he's excited to work across our market-leading diverse range of assets.
Danielle is widely acknowledged by our agency partners as being the best in her field, and we are very
fortunate to have her stepping into this exciting new position.
"Our Christchurch agency partners deserve the best, and these hires demonstrate our ongoing commitment
to delivering the highest levels of service and innovative solutions,” says McCrea.
Completing the leadership trio, Danny Valentine has been appointed as Christchurch Direct Sales Manager,
bringing 15 years of media sales expertise and an impressive 24-year history of business ownership and
directorship in the Christchurch market.
Janine Tindall-Morice, NZME Regional Head – Southern Commercial, says: "Danny's business relationships,
media experience, business acumen and leadership capabilities, combined with his deep understanding of
the competitive landscape in Christchurch, make him the perfect fit to support our sales team and our
expanding customer base in this important market.”
